We’re 5000 Bananas
We’re Martha and Greg - we love having fun and playing games. During one family games night we thought: let’s make some of our own.
Luckily we’re a great combination - Martha loves playing games and solving puzzles, and Greg loves making them!
The timing worked too - Martha was disillusioned with her career as a doctor and Greg was looking for new ways to deliver fun alongside his mobile escape room @escapethevan
So why are we called 5000 Bananas?
We knew our debut game would feature fruit, so when we spotted the banana for scale meme online it had obvious a-peel.
What a great idea for a fun first product, we thought.
So we ordered 5000 stress toy bananas which, long story short, failed safety testing because they looked too much like real bananas!
We couldn’t sell them or even give them away, so they’re currently in our spare room being stress toys that work in reverse.
We slipped up and made our first mistake before we even made our first game!
So we decided there was only one thing to do - name our company after our new yellow housemates.
